Holding onto hope (for now)

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. When will the people learn that the President is just a puppet with no real power. Probably never. :<
That is a comment from my facebook status update where I wished everyone a happy inauguration day.

I can totally understand that sentiment (remember, I wasn't even going to vote up until the last moment) and yet I don't and I hope never to share it completely.

Possibly it is stupid of me, but I still believe that one man can change the world and that it is possible that not every President is a puppet.

Time may prove that commenter to be right, but can we at least give it some time? I will hold onto hope until proven wrong, even if it is foolish to do so. If you don't have hope what do you have? Nothing, you just become a grumpy cynical debunklican about everything and that doesn't sound like a very pleasant way to live.

  1. I tripped over this in National Geographic today. Pretty interesting.

  2. For someone who claims she wasn't going to vote up until the last minute, this Debunklicans blog suggests the contrary. You're quite the patisan. And, a viscious one at that.

  3. Why do people keep saying shit when they don't even get the point? Partisans like Autumn Sky always think it is all about Republicans and politics -- it is about ufo/paranormal debunkers the vast majority of which lean far left. They only see it as an insult to Republicans and thereby totally miss the point of who I was actually trying to insult.

Maybe it has something to do with your upper-left front page tag, under the terrible McCain pic:"The debunkers remind me very much of the John McCain campaign. Rather than truly explain anything, they just slander the other side."

You wrote it. Oh and I'm not a partisan, but you clearly are.

And if you're what UFO Magazine has to offer, I'm going to cancel my subscription. You swear, lie and are simply stupid.

  5. First off, if you were not partisan you would not care what I said about John McCain. So obviously you are a liar. I have never pretended to be anything, but a liberal. Not a Democrat, a liberal. I am certainly NOT a fan of McCain nor have I ever pretended to be -- so where is the lie?

Obviously my sin was to not agree with your love of John McCain and I won't apologize for that.

If you can't understand why left leaning debunkers would find being compared to John McCain insulting -- I can't help you.

Probably you should cancel your subscription because most UFO Mag columnists are lefties which obviously offends you.

  6. Hey yeah! Support McCain if you feel he would have maintained the supporter's status quo and heralded a return to the "glorious" Reagan Days. Support McCainian ethics even as they did as Lesley described, offered NOTHING, nada, as it disingenuously crapped on the other side.

But Sarah Palin? A heart-beat away from the most powerful position in the world as a conscious choice? What?! A proudly ignorant and born-again alpha-barracuda witch-hunter with near zero practical experience who thinks with her tits while she dishonors her vagina? That's absurd when its not psychotic — sans respect where it's not psychopathic. I refuse to have respect for that myself. Jus' sayin' [g].

I envy and greatly admire your knack for words. What a great description!

  8. Lehmberg pointlessly rages: "Hey yeah! Support McCain if you feel he would have maintained the supporter's status quo and heralded a return to the "glorious" Reagan Days. Oh look - Lehmberg has demonstrated, with his characteristic vulgarity, less respect for females than Obama and his supporters have.

Poor frustrated Lehmberg -- a WASP who can't get a teaching position because he's not the right race in our affirmative-actionized dumbed-down country. Carry on with your political and social follies. Poor you - a once vaunted fighter pilot, cum-failed teacher and alien abductee. No one -- Democrat or Republican, cares. [g]

  9. You have finally shown your true self! Cum-failed teacher is quite vile. Kind of a kettle calling the pot situation. Thanks so much Autumn Sky or is it Susan?

  10. Yeah -- that hyphen was _way_ out of line! Rofl!

Oh yeah... "Pointless" rage? Race? Fighter pilot? Abductee? Fire your fact checker, "Sarah." Demand a refund at least!

Too, no one has to "care" but myself, eh? Got that covered, and thanks.

Autumn Sky Susan? A-S-S? ...You gotta hat? Rofl.

  11. There goes Lesley - who doesn't know her latin or prepositions or much of anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  12. but I do know that Africa is a continent and your IP addy. You betcha! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Naw poots -- ya got it all wrong, forgetting it's more than just a little pretentious that we should be up on our Latin. It was the hyphen that made it a little "funny" - revolting even. Ironic, when you were chiding me on _my_ alleged "vulgarity." See, with the hyphen it might be that _you_ were a "potty mouth" and not a Latin expert. Ta!

  14. Paranoid jobless Lesley. Not much else to do with site counters than look at ips at your dozens of websites, eh? I don't care who you think I am. Your logic is simplistic, stupid and flawed with "left leaning debunkers" and "lefties" at Ufo Magazine. ROFL!

Alfred - Speaking of "poots" - who can forget what you did publically to Morty. So much belief and defending one person then betraying the poor sop pubically. Watch out Les, it'll happen to you too. You're hardly as interesting as Morty was. He could tell good abduction stories. But you are paranoid which is something people like Lehmberg feed off of. Ta Ta and Namaste drearie dearies!

  15. I am not the paranoid one. I use my real name rather than hiding behind a screen name.

Jobless? Lucky me, we make enough from our technology company that I don't have to work for someone else or work much at all. Of course, you wouldn't know that because you don't know anything about me -- you only think you do.

You are scaring me with your denouncement of simple logic. I fear you are becoming a liberal or elitist. After all, Mac and simple Sarah were all about simple logic. Joe the plumber, the average Joe, Joe 6-pack = real Americans. People that don't think like Mac and Sarah = elitists. Very simple.

I will watch out for Alfred. LOL!

This is the last time I plan to respond to one of your bitter comments. I realize your guy lost the election, but get over it and move on.

  16. Suzi-poots!

Morty? ...Lovely! I betrayed him? No... it was the complete and total inverse of that.

Here's some citation for this from Budd Hopkins and myself. I'm sure Docca Morty... leaning so far right he's fallen off the paradigm, is appreciative you've dredged all this back up again:
